This singled out Dr. Bode Olajumoke as a compassionate and Leadership worthy

ASCEND President, Mr.Cosmas Okoli noted that Dr. Bode Olajumoke remains a politician who other politicians need to study and emulate his attitude towards humanity. ASCEND is happy to note that Dr. Bode Olajumoke is our Grand Patron and he is now an elected Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria representing Ondo North Senatorial District.

Conclusion
At 2003 general election in Nigeria, one can count on his fingers how many persons with disabilities have dared to contest election, Moreover, since the advent of democracy in Nigeria, out of the very few that are active in politics, less than five have been elected into one political office or the other, while less than ten have been given political appointment al all level of government. It therefore calls for drastic measure to be taken to integrate Nigeria with disabilities not only into political activities in this country but into other mainstream activities. This is exactly what ASCEND intends to achieve and maintain.
The process for making a revolution in the world of person with disabilities is quite challenging. ASCEND is committed to ensuring not only the correction of the lukewarm attitude of person with debilities to politics, but also, make our society totally enabling for equal participation of person with disabilities in socio-political development. We have the will, the zeal and the number. We are optimistic and confident that timely recognition and involvement of person with disabilities in mainstream society will ensure Nigeria’s attainment of the Millennium Development Goals and Vision 20-2020.
